A wildly popular, and relatively young, form of dance is Hip Hop. This genre began being developed in the 1970's, and grew simultaneously on the streets in The Bronx, New York and in California. Now, there are several different styles that fall under the Hip Hop genre, including a commercialized New Style and some of the old favorites like popping. Perhaps its attraction lies in the fact that it began with common people from African-American and Latino communities. Maybe it is because of the improvisational nature that it adheres to. Either way, this dance platform seems to be more than a passing fad. Be sure to check out Hip Hop Festivals Worldwide and Hip Hop Festivals USA Calendars.
