“Oh, zumba!” “Oh, it’s that sensual sexy dance where the girl shakes her butt?” “It’s like tango right?” 🤷Ask any kizomba dancer if they’ve ever had someone say one of the above to them. Heck, they most likely said the same thing when they first discovered this dance. (No judgement, we promise.) And while there are many kizomba ladies who can expertly shake their butts, that is not at all what this beautiful, close-embraced partner dance is all about. So what is it all about then? ▶️Kizomba owes its origins to a troubled period of civil war in Angola (and to Cape Verde and other PALOP countries in Africa). Much of the music reflects these difficult times. The dancing itself became a way to connect with others and to hold them close. Connection. That’s really what kizomba is all about. 🤗 So, if you’re NOT into hugs, then this dance might not be for you. But if you are… ✔️You’ll get so many hugs that your brain will be experiencing an overload of happy chemicals ✔️We expose you to the music (thanks to our very own DJ Javi being a well-respected traveling kizomba DJ) ✔️You’ll meet a whole community of kizomba lovers who love to have fun and support each other ✔️Get the tools you need to jumpstart your new addiction (ever thought of traveling to festivals?) And of course… ✔️You’ll learn a beautiful dance that will enrich your life beyond what you thought possible! \*\*Bringing a partner with you is not necessary. If you have a friend or partner who wants to come too, that's great! But if not, don't let that stop you from dancing!! $15 per class
