Country May Day brings three full days of workshops, competitions, and social
dancing to Charlotte, offering an unforgettable experience for dancers of all levels.
As part of the official Country Swing Dance Council (CSDC) circuit, eligible
competitions will award official points.
Workshops cover Country Swing, West Coast Swing, Line Dance, and specialized
sessions on styling, solo movement, musicality, etc. Whether you’re just starting or
refining advanced skills, every class is designed to improve connection,
confidence, and overall technique.
Competitions are inclusive and dynamic. Dancers can enter multiple categories,
showcase their skills, receive feedback, and compete for prizes, including tickets
to
events and special awards, all while earning official CSDC points.
The weekend kicks off on Thursday with a pre-party to meet instructors and fellow
dancers. Friday and Saturday feature workshops, social dancing, and competitions
woven into the evening, while Sunday concludes with final workshops and an
after-
party.
Country May Day isn’t just about dancing, it’s about connecting with the
community, improving your skills, competing for points, and celebrating the
growing
country dance scene in Charlotte. Whether your goal is to learn, compete, or
dance from start to finish, this is a weekend designed to leave you energized,
inspired, and ready for more.
