This intimate weekend explores the history of African American Jazz dance, tracing its roots from African dance and plantation dances through today's Solo Jazz. We've assembled an array of incredible, inspirational, and innovative instructors to expand your jazz movement vocabulary and enhance your partnered dancing. The festival features two days of workshops on Saturday and Sunday, two evenings of social dancing with live music on Friday and Saturday, and an early farewell party on Sunday where you can practice solo jazz and incorporate it into your Lindy Hop. Attendance is limited to maintain an intimate atmosphere and ensure you have meaningful time with the legends and opportunities to connect with fellow dancers. Not everyone had the chance to learn from Frankie Manning or Norma Miller, so this is a rare opportunity for every swing dancer to explore the history of the dance we love alongside an original dancer from the Savoy Ballroom.
