1920s Jazz Age Dance Weekend in Toronto, Canada features workshops and lessons in 1920s Jazz Age partner dances, along with dance parties. The Roaring 20s Saturday Night Swing, featuring Ben Harvey and his Ornamentals, will have a Jazz Age Garden Party theme complete with photo opportunities and props. Learn the beloved, accessible partner dances of the 1920s Jazz Age—vernacular styles that are free-spirited and easy to learn. Workshops and lessons cover 1920s Two Step & Shimmie, Peabody (Swing Walk), 1920s vernacular Fox Trot, One Step, partner Charleston, and 1920s Waltz. The 1920s Two Step is a Swing Dance precursor, while Peabody was performed by all of the Lindy Hoppers at the Savoy Ballroom, including Frankie, Norma, and Whitey's Lindy Hoppers.
