I'm pleased to announce the return of the bi-weekly salsa and bachata Friday socials in West Philadelphia. For those of us of the old guard, there used to be a wonderful studio called Take The Lead, owned by my friend and gifted instructor Garincha Hilaire. Garincha and I go way back, and I've been fortunate enough to continue to learn from him as my journey continues in embracing these styles of dance. His new studio is called West Philly Latin Ballroom. The studio is easily accessible via the #34 SEPTA trolley, which will place you at its doorstep. Now the breakdown. The first half hour is treated as a cocktail hour, where you can arrive with time to spare before things get into full swing. This event is BYOB. With the $12 cover, you will get cheese, crackers, fruit, chips and other assorted light fare to nibble on and mini-dance lessons throughout the night. The crowd is full of dancers of all levels/skill sets. So please join us in starting off the weekend on the right step/note. Huepa!!!
