[hidden] Description West Coast Swing (WCS) is one of the most versatile, and social, dances around. It can be danced to multiple styles of music, including: Pop. R&B, Hip-Hop, Dance, Electronic, Jazz, and Blues, among others. Each week, we bring in a local instructor to teach two lessons: – a 7:00 novice-level lesson – a 7:45 intermediate-level lesson The 7:00 class is a great class for those newer to the dance, or those wishing to brush up on the fundamentals of WCS. The 7:45 class builds on the dance's foundation, adding variations of moves, patterns, and techniques, to make the dance even more fun. And at 8:30, we open the dance floor and socialize and dance for three hours and spend time with new and long-time friends. The WCW website has full details on the evening ( [hidden] ). We look forward to meeting you, and making your West Coast Wednesdays (WCW) experience enjoyable--one you'll want to come back to again. Times and Cost For the evening: - The beginner/novice lesson is at 7:00 pm. - The intermediate lesson is at 7:45 pm. - Open dancing goes from 8:30 - 11:30 pm. The cost: - $7 cover for the dance - $5 per lesson For lessons, there's no need to bring a partner, as instructors rotate students during the lesson. Ken and/or Matt will be at the front door before 7. Come up and say hello! Location Downers Sand Club Sports Bar and Grill [hidden] Sometimes GPS incorrectly routes the location. We are in between Hooters and Olive Garden on the service road off of Butterfield Rd. in Downers Grove. We're across the street from Best Buy. The dance is in the side room. Go to the back and go through the double doors on the left. The Sand Club has great food and drinks, pool tables, a beer garden and pretty much anything you could want.
