New classes start Thursday November 7th... 6-week series with Carolina and Jamal! 6:30pm - Beginners $15 Drop-in fee or $75 for 6-week series This class is for students new to salsa dancing. We will cover the basic steps, basic shines, outside turn, cross-body lead, cross-body lead with a turn, timing, leading and following technique. - No experience necessary - No partner necessary 7:30pm - Beyond Beginners $15 Drop-in fee or $75 for 6-week series This class will expand on the curriculum of the beginners class. It is assumed that students have a solid understanding of the fundamentals learned in the beginner's class including timing, shines, and partner-work. Each week we'll focus on different skills to build better dancers ie musicality, body movement, leading and following, roots like Rumba etc. As well as learn higher level salsa movements and concepts. - Prerequisite: 2-3 cycles of Beginners Salsa or instructors approval - No partner necessary Dates: - Thu 11/07: Week 1 - Thu 11/14: Week 2 - Thu 11/21: Week 3 - (11/28 closed for Thanksgiving) - Thu 12/05: Week 4 - Thu 12/12: Week 5 - Thu 12/19: Week 6 - (12/26 closed for Christmas) - (01/02 closed for New Years) ****PRE-REGISTER TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT**** To register, visit vmacpdx.com ****RSVP here on meetup.com does not guarantee your spot with VMAC.
