Did you know that a private croquet club has been playing ball in the heart of Central Park for decades? Now’s your chance to walk on to their historic private lawns and try out this 700-year-old mallet-cracking sport for yourself.
Join New York Adventure Club as we learn about and play the game of croquet with the New York Croquet Club, the founding club of the U.S. Croquet Association located New York’s historic Central Park.
Led by a member of the New York Croquet Club and a top player in the region, our exclusive sporting experience will include:
An overview of the New York Croquet Club, and how its co-founders managed to secure nearly an acre plot for their private croquet lawns in Central Park back in 1972
A rundown of how to play croquet, from explaining how to correctly grip and swing a mallet, to the various rules and variations adhered to throughout the world
The opportunity to play a regulation game of Golf Croquet and compete against your fellow adventurers — all for fun, of course!
A trip inside the New York Croquet Clubhouse for a look at historic tournament trophies and other croquet memorabilia
Afterward, we’ll head over to neighboring Le Pain Quotidien, where you’ll have an opportunity to purchase food and drinks with your fellow croquet masters!
See you there!
