The large-scale Russian festival of music and modern culture Gamma will be held for the fourth time in St. Petersburg from July 11 to July 14 , 2019. For several days , the Northern capital will once again become the epicenter of the electronic and avant-garde sound , media art and various cultural events. The music format of the festival will be presented by 10 stages in 4 different locations of St. Petersburg and an impressive international line-up , which includes artists from more than 15 countries of the world. Gamma not only represents established names in music and contemporary art , but also opens up new ones. Therefore , in 2019 Gamma is hosting the project of the SHAPE platform with the support of the Creative Europe program with its two dozen fresh European artists performing in Russia for the first time. Thanks to this initiative Gamma continues to expand the boundaries of musical discourse. Already in May 2019 , GAMMA LAB AI will become the experimental prologue of the festival - a research project dedicated to three musical styles - techno , jazz and baroque. All three areas in the collaboration of live musicians and Artificial Intelligence will be represented on a special AI-stage of the festival in July. On July 11-12 , 2019 , the festival will host the international conference GAMMAPRO on the global festival movement , where representatives of music festivals from around the world , theorists and practitioners of media art , the initiators of the most innovative cultural projects will take the floor as speakers and participants. Thus , Gamma festival creates broad opportunities for international cultural collaborations in Russia.
