About Zouk16 Zouk 16 is an tournament where the top 16 couples (from a preliminary if applicable) who enter the contest dance head to head, and judges decide IMMEDIATELY who progresses and who goes out. This was branched out from the Swing 16 tournament created in the West Coast Swing community. RULES Prelims(when applicable): ★ Open levels, anyone can enter. ★ You are paired at random with ONE partner and dance three songs. You are judged as a couple. ★ Top 16 scoring couples go to finals Finals: ★ If from a preliminary - Partnerships are randomized and a combined ranking is given, so if the best follower is paired with the 16th leader, they will get a combined score that might be the same as if the middle of the pack leader and follower is paired up. ★ If without a preliminary (only 16 leads/follows enter) - the pairs are randomized ★ These combined couple scores are then seeded and the elimination bracket is set up. ★ Couples then dance head to head for glory, for cash, and possibly event passes All the partnering randomization is done behind the scenes - finalists are called out to the floor with their partner.! Goals for the tour * Affordable for everyone to enter (Novice to Professional) * Format that is luck of the draw that gives everyone a chance to succeed * Prize money at each event * Free Event passes from all participating events to the winners * HAVE FUN!!!!!
