As the late, great David Bowie sang, "Let's dance!". Kiwii and Fiona welcome all to a belly dance workshop with a twist! This class will include a drink from the amazing staff at Methuselah's and we will dance..and well, drink! In this class, we focus on executing movements with precision and strength with a focus on healthy posture. Students will also learn strengthening exercises as well as warm-up and cool-down movements to increase flexibility and circulation. We will end the class with a short choreography, stringing all the movements we learned together in fun, upbeat dance! To start Saturday night off right, we will be incorporating our tasty drink into the workshop to create a fun, stress-free space were we can all enjoy and have fun.
This class is open to all people over 21, all gender identities, and dance abilities.
After the workshop, Heart-Shaped Box will be performing a full belly dance set. The bar and kitchen will be open, so stay and eat, drink, and hang out with the belly dancers!

Fusion belly dance is a modern interpretation of the world’s oldest dance. Heart-Shaped Box's particular style uses traditional belly dance as its foundation and adapts movements from modern dance, Jazz, traditional Eastern folk and early Western dances. Fusion Dance is unique as it allows each dancer to create their own vocabulary and unique take on belly dance. Focusing on the art of expression through movement, fusion belly dance is an empowering dance that is growing in popularity all over the world.
