Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana ~ building bridges between cultures using the universal spirit of flamenco – is known for the purity of its work and the unique and creative way the dancers have enriched the art of flamenco. The company brings an exciting evening of flamenco dance, featuring accomplished artists from both the U.S. and Spain. Happiness, sadness, joy and sorrow are translated through this eloquent art form. As noted in The Philadelphia Inquirer, “This was a show of graceful, sensuous dance, expressing a host of raw human emotions – evocative of loneliness, pride, passion and joy.” The Voces del Sur Tour is a glimpse into the mysterious land of Andalucía and beyond. This southern region of Spain is known as the “cradle of flamenco.” Over the centuries, Andalucía has been inhabited by many different cultures, each with its own language and traditions, and thus became a melting pot of Spanish, Arabic, Gypsy, Sephardic Jewish and Latino influences. This blend fostered an extraordinarily rich diversity of art, literature, dance, and music. From these many “voces” (voices) Flamenco Vivo’s dancers and musicians pay tribute to the unique and diverse culture of Andalucía and to the peoples of the other “Sur”- South America.Flamenco Vivo – Carlota Santana ~ building bridges between cultures using the universal spirit of flamenco – is known for the purity of its work and the unique and creative way the dancers have enriched the art of flamenco.
