“Exploring Tango Axis and Turns with Advanced Concepts".
1PM-2:30PM: Workshop-1: Techniques and drills for on- and off- axis turns
Cool and unexpected turns are one of the most fun part of dancing tango. But mastering those requires the right skills and exercises. In this class, starting with fundamentals of tango turns, you will learn how to use body spirals, suspension and momentum for both single axis and shared axis turns and the secrets of using them in open and close embrace.
2:45PM-4:15: Workshop-2: Transforming “turn”-ing concepts into advanced figures for social dancing.
Many of the tango figures that can be used in compact spaces for social dancing include Sacadas, Ganchos and Colgadas, which require enhanced knowledge of tango turns. In this class you will learn how to blend the above and use those concepts for advanced figures in tango.
Class Requirements:
1. Bootcamp style classes for intermediate/adv dancers with knowledge of giros/molinete and changing directions during turns.
2. Required to take both classes to understand greater details of blending concepts into tango figures and movements.
IF you would like to join the workshops, but do not feel that you meet the requirements, both Maria and Kausik are available for privates before the workshops! They will get you caught up in order for you to fully participate!
Price:
$35 per workshop
$60 for both
4:15PM-5:15PM: Stay after the workshops and practice all the new concepts and moves you have learned! ($5)
