To register, email Whitley and send payment via PayPal to [hidden] INTRO TO FUSION BELLY DANCE: This masterclass will explore the technique and nuances unique to Indian dance, e.g. eye and head movement, mudras, and expressions, and how to build it into our belly dance vocabulary. Other topics to be explored: history, mythology, and spiritual elements of Indian Temple dances. Indian dances covered: Odissi, Kathak, and Rajasthani folk. Classes include: *Classical Indian dance inspired warm up *Introduction to “Lasya” & “Tandva”- the dance movements of the Divine Masculine and Feminine! *Indian and Belly Dance technique drills *Building a spiritual practice through dance *An Indian Fusion Belly Dance choreography to tie it all together! PRIESTESS SESSIONS (usually $125/ 90 minutes, but special workshop price is $80/hr or $100/90 min)! : As eternal beings we are innately aware of our own Divinity, but through life’s difficulties and traumas, we may feel start to feel disconnected, resulting in anxiety, depression, and/or a lost sense of “self”. A Priestess Session gently guides the mind, body, and spirit back into balance, opening the client up to a deeper access to Divine Presence and their own innate power. It helps to heal personal, ancestral, and past life trauma on the cellular level and build a new “blue print” for your happiest possible life. Each treatment is customized based on the needs of the individual and may include: chakra balancing, Violet Flame energy work, Plant Spirit Medicine, future Self activation, Sacred Blueprint activation, past life and ancestral healing. KALIDASI'S BIO: Kalidasi’s dance is the expression of the individual who seeks to reach a bliss-permeated state. Her dance is influenced by many years of study in tribal fusion bellydance, Shakespearean theatre, Horton technique of Modern dance , and the classical Indian dances of Odissi, Bharatnatyam, and Kathak, interweaving them together to create a dynamic and evocative performance . She currently studies Odissi under her master teachers Colleena Shakti and Sudhansu Puhan in Pushkar, Rajasthan and locally with Mouli Pal of Boston, MA . Kali was a principal member of Boston-based Vadalna Tribal Dance Company from 2009-2015, directed by Naraya Ligouri. In 2012 she had the honor of performing Odissi at the Pushkar Temple Dance Festival, in Pushkar India, produced annually by the Shakti School of Dance. She has had the honor of training extensively with renowned teachers Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Ashley Lopez, Colleena Shakti, Mardi Love, and Miriam Peretz. She continues to teach and perform nationally and is passionate about teaching the transformative and healing powers of dance. Kalidasi is a graduate of the Wisdom School of S.O.P.H.I.A, Priestess of the Temple of S.O.P.H.I.A, Usui Reiki Master, Shamanic & Plant Spirit Medicine Practitioner, and is a graduate of the Eugene O’Neill’s National Theatre Institute (NTI). She holds a B.A. in Theatre and Women’s Studies from Wheaton College, MA, and works in Academic Affairs at Harvard Divinity School. More Info below.
