Do you like Hip Hop dance? Do you want to learn how to be a better leader and feel more confident? Do you want to know what is going on in your community and what you can do to change it? Join Majestic Movers and you will learn about all of those things! Not only will you’ll be learning Hip Hop dance, but you will also learn how to be a powerful, confident leader and make connections with some of the most amazing dancers and activists in Seattle. Come dance, lead and change the world!
Who can join?
Girls in 6-8 grade
When are practices?
1st session: Jan 4-Mar 28, 2016
Mondays 4:30-6pm
*no practice on Jan 18 and Feb 15
Where will practices be?
Africatown Innovation Center, 3100 S Alaska St
What will we be doing in the 1st session?
Learning Hip Hop choreography and leadership tools so that by the end of the session, everyone will have the skillz to come up with their own choreography and teach it to the group! #leaders
What will we be doing in the 2nd session?
Still learning Hip Hop! This time we are focusing on social justice topics that affect you and your community to build a Hip Hop dance performance that spreads awareness and positivity. #changemakers
Other cool stuff?
Field trips to see dance battles, guest dance instructors, snacks during rehearsals and more!
Can I afford this?
The answer is YES. Payment is a sliding scale fee scale from $50-$100 per session and you can pay in installments. If monetary contribution is not viable for you at this time, we accept all forms of payment whether that is carpooling, volunteering to pick up the space after rehearsal, or bringing snacks to share. We will set up a plan that works best for YOU.
