Finding NYC Tango dance classes is easy - whether you are looking to start yourself as a beginner or improve your tango skills with intermediate or advanced lessons and workshops or as a couple - here are few tips on finding tango lessons in NYC:

• All the dance studios (listed above) offer Argentine tango Lesson as part of their dance curriculum. Inquire with each studio about the schedule of group or private lessons and instructors. 
• Individual instructors offer tango lessons throughout NYC - mostly private lessons, though some offer group classes as workshops in various locations - search online for more info. 
• Pre-milonga classes - check out our list of Milongas above. Milongas are social dance parties offering tango classes from beginner to intermediate to advanced right before the start of social dancing. Event if you are a beginner - it's a great place to start your tango journey.

FREE NYC Tango Classes

Ever wanted to try Argentine Tango for the first time? Here are several tips and place where you can find FREE tango classes in NYC. Always make sure to call / inquire first with the studios and instructors. 

• Pre-milonga Free Tango classes - every Milonga offers free (well, kind of free) tango class that are included with your milonga admission. In our opinion it's the best way to start your tango journey -- you get to take a group class by yourself or with your partner / date and then just stay and watch the others dance & get inspired. Many milongas welcome beginners - and it's the best way to learn tango: from other dancers!
• Free Tango Practicas - it's a special type of social dance events that low-key and are designed to practice your tango skills. Many dance studios in NYC organize weekly tango practicas. Tango practicas are free (well, again - kind of free) as they are offered complementary as a part of your studio membership (see our studios list above and inquire directly with them for schedules).
• Introductory Tango Class promotions - from time to time, many dance studios and individual instructors offer introductory argentine tango lessons for free. Usually those are group lessons for the first-timers - check with each studio individually or check their website.

MONDAY. Ensueno Tango Salon @ Ukrainian Village Restaurant, 140 2nd Ave (between 8th & 9th St) Argentine tango classes and dancing every Monday 6:30pm - 12:45am at the Ukrainian Private Ballroom 140 2nd Ave, NYC between 8th and 9th streets. TUESDAY. La Esquina De Falucho (1st and 3rd Tuesday) @ Cafe Argentino Restaurant: 499 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY 11211. Hosted by Renee Rouger. Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. MILONGA FALUCHO is now an indoor & outdoor event -weather permitting.

THURSDAY. Tango La Nacional @ Club Espanol - 239 West 14th St (bet. 7th & 8th Ave). Tango La Nacional is back and better than ever. Featuring beloved performers and teachers, nyc’s oldest Argentine Tango club will return to its iconic New York City location in the Meatpacking District. Every Thursday from 7 pm to 2: 00 am. Intermediate level class 7 pm to 8 pm. Performance 11 pm. Dancing until 2 am.

SATURDAY. All Night Milonga (2nd & last Saturday) @ Stepping Out Studios: 617 W 46th Street, PH Floor, New York, NY 10036. Every 2nd & last Saturday; Time: 9pm class, 10pm - 4am. Host: Queen of the Night, Sarah La Rocca and President of Stepping of Stepping Studios, George Ciao presents a spectacular night of Tango dancing, a class, performances, snacks, guest DJs and special surprises!

SUNDAY. El Destino Milonga @ Solas Bar: 232 E 9th St, New York, NY 10003. Michelle Lamb and Tine Herreman invite you to join us for great dancing in an intimate setting with expertly mixed drinks and an amazing sound system. La Nacional: NYC's Historic Milonga
