This four-week Tango Fundamentals Program is offered for two hours, twice weekly. The goal of the program is to teach you the fundamentals of tango that will help you feel confident on the dance floor. We’ll give you the tools you need to succeed and feel great in all of our tango classes as well as the social dances (milongas) around the city. Our four weeks Fundamentals Program covers the following concepts: The couple connection (“tango feeling”) and its etiquette, managing spaces and energy in the embrace, understanding basic musicality, walking in parallel and cross systems, learning navigation strategies for the dance floor, doing spot movements, movements around an axis and movements with pivots. Each week focuses on one fundamental concept. Students can choose to come either Mondays or Saturdays for the remainder of the course. The first hour of class is a technique class, devoted to body awareness, control, and conditioning. We will teach you how to prepare and understand your body for Tango. * No partner is necessary.
