New In Town American Smooth&Rhythm Classes

Join our American Smooth and Rhythm dance classes. Individuals and couples are welcome! American Smooth and Rhythm will show you a different version of the Ballroom and Latin dances. You will still learn the classy Waltz, the passionate Tango, the East Coast version of the Swing, the elegant Viennese Waltz, the jazzy Foxtrot plus some additional dances like Bolero, Mambo and the quick American Rumba. The American Smooth which includes majority of the Standard dances is distinctive because it allows you to dance in both open and closed positions as well as solo. These differences will give a significant freedom and musical expression to your dancing. The American Rhythm includes some of the Latin American dances and the most distinctive feature is the ‘hip action’ used by flexing the knees after taking a step. Both styles are danced to a more simplified timing with music to help social dancers to feel comfortable on the dance floor and move with more ease. Beginners 6.30pm, Improvers 7.30pm This classes are designed for absolute novices, so be brave and join now! Individuals and couples are welcome. Flexible attendance / pay as you go system - perfect for the busy Londoner’s schedule! Dances - Waltz, Mambo, Foxtrot, Bolero, Tango, Swing, V.Waltz, Rumba Class Description - We take 2 dances every 3 weeks spending 30min on a Smooth and 30min on a Rhythm dance each time. Week 1 - learn the rhythms and basics, week 2 - revise and learn new steps, week 3 - revise and practice. Over a period of 12 weeks you will learn the basics of 8 American Smooth and Rythm dances and acquire the most important couple dancing skills of leading and following. Our friendly and professional teachers are fully qualified and have tons of experience to make sure you feel comfortable from lesson one.
