Advanced Tango-Nuevo Class!

🕺 Tango-Nuevo Course introduces students to the principles and elements/figures of the tango-nuevo style and continues to enrich and expand students' tango-vocabulary.Prerequisite: 1 year of studying and dancing Traditional Tango. ❓ What is Tango-Nuevo? "Nuevo" means "New" in Spanish. As tango music evolved, the creation of the tango-nuevo style followed. Astor Piazolla was at the forefront of this development when he incorporated elements of jazz and classical music into traditional Argentine Tango music. He revolutionized traditional tango music into a new style called "nuevo-tango". ☝️ In order to dance Tango-Nuevo it is necessary to know the traditional tango steps, as it uses fundamental tango concepts and builds upon them. Then tango-nuevo brings innovation and personal expression to traditional tango dance. 💃 Characteristics of tango-nuevo: open, loose or elastic embrace with a very upright posture and a great emphasis on the dancers maintaining their own axis. Some of the most identifiable figures of the style are overturn ochos, cadenas, linear boleos, volcadas and single axis spins. Nowadays, it is more common to hear tango-nuevo music played at traditional milongas. Not to mention, there are alternative milongas everywhere, where 100% of the tango-nuevo and alternative music is played. Instructors: Kristina Ivanova ✅ To register: [hidden] More Info below.
