Ladies Night With Meli

Ladies! This is my #mood currently! You know you love a good throwback! We will be dancing a super street jazzy, sexy & fun choreo to Paula Abdul’s 1988 smash hit “Cold Hearted”…..now can I find a scaffold for us? hahah Paloma’s will be our signature drink for this night! Tequila based drink with grapefruit juice. I you prefer another poison, we are always BYOB friendly! This class is great for all levels of dance! We offer a place for you to have fun, relax, learn some new moves, show off your moves and celebrate being a bad-ass! (You are welcome to come early @ 6:45pm for Palmoma’s and mingling if you’d like!) $10 for class & Paloma’s (while supplies last) What to wear? workout clothes or movable attire that is comfy and makes you feel sexy!! What about shoes? Up to you! Barefoot, Sneakers, Heels…If you are newer to dancing in heels please bring an alternate pair (just in case) About Instructor: Melissa (“Meli”): Melissa Corpus is a Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer in Austin, Texas. Since 2010, she has been teaching samba no pe focusing on footwork, technique and the joy of the Brazilian spirit. Melissa has worked with Austin Samba, the largest samba school in the United States, as a choreographer, director and principal dancer. She has traveled to Brazil and throughout the United States to study with Patrick Carvalho, Ana Laidley, Rosangela Silvestre, Danielle Lima, Rodrigo Marques and Pedro Rosa. In 2014, she paraded in Rio de Janeiro with the legendary G.R.E.S. Estação Primeira de Mangueira. In addition to Samba, Melissa also teaches,choreographs and performs Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha, Street Jazz with elements of hip hop. She founded MeliSamba, a professional Samba performance group, and is excited to spread the “Alegria” of dance to the Austin community and beyond. More Info below.
