Join Drop Squad Crew at Salsa N' Seattle for a Femme Floorwork workshop taught by guest instructors Alyssa-Cyre Oyadomari and Tracey Wong! - Cost $12 or class punch - (Free for Drop Squad and SNS Students with Solo/Unlimited Membership) **Please arrive 15 minutes early to register so we can get class started on time** CLASS DESCRIPTION The use of femme floorwork in dance is a powerful tool for performers to exercise body control, show off flexibility and expand feminine movement. In the first half of class, Tracey and Alyssa will guide you through basic floorwork techniques. After learning floorwork foundation, you will work on applying it into fun and engaging exercises that will allow you to feel comfortable and sexy while moving on the floor. Recommended Attire: Form fitting clothing and knee pads; heels are optional but encouraged. INSTRUCTOR BIOS Tracey Wong is a dancer, educator, and community event curator based in Seattle. She is a co-founder and co-director of Malicious Allure and is formally trained in waacking, vogue, and hip hop. Tracey is an alumni member of the dance groups Boogiezone Breed Seattle, The Z Project, and Studio 3 Company. She is currently a contributing choreographer for the all-female street styles group called The CRUW. Tracey’s work has been featured in Seattle Art Museum’s events “Remix” and “The Legendary Children”, Seattle Gay Pride Festival, Bumbershoot, and Flavr Blue at Capitol Hill Block Party’s Mainstage. She’s also worked with top brands such as Nordstrom Pop Up Shop and Microsoft. In addition to performing and choreographing, Tracey competes heavily in the Seattle battle scene. She has been the winner of PDX’s Waacking battle “Nostalgia”, Seattle based vogue competition “En Vogue”, and is the champion for Seattle based all style battle “Matter of Movement 2016”. She was a finalist in Seattle’s World of Dance 2016 Headbangerz Brawl and in LA’s International Whack/ Punk/ Pose Festival, Waackfest 2016. With her cross training of styles, Tracey also incorporates floorwork into her artistry in order to expand her creativity and also to find liberation and empowerment in her femininity. Alyssa-Cyre Oyadomari, a.k.a ahh-Lee-SOUL, is a diverse performer, dancer, and capoeira enthusiast in Seattle, Washington. Alyssa was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and started her dance journey training in hula, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and hip-hop. Since moving to Seattle, Washington in 2009, she has continued her hip-hop dance training at Westlake Dance Center, performing with groups such as The BMKTZZ, Cruz Control, and Boogiezone Breed-Seattle. Alyssa began training in the styles of vogue and waacking and became an official member of Malicious Allure in 2017. Most recently, she competed in her first vogue event, “Lunatico Ball” and won categories of Woman’s Face and Female Figure Sex Siren. Alyssa also competes in the local all-styles battle scene and holds the titles of 1st place in 2014 “Make It Nasty” 2v2 Allstyles Battle and 2015 “Ante-Up” 2v2 Allstyles Battle. More Info below.
