La Juerga flamenco ensemble is proud to present for the first time in La Juerga, Laura Siebert from Houston, TX together with long time friend and colaborator, Jose Cortes from Marceille, France. Jose Cortes is a native from Marceille, France born into a gypsy family from Malga, Spain. he has worked and shared the stage with numerous flamenco artist like Antonio Carmona, Juana la del Pipa, Alfonso Losa, Pastora Galvan, Adela Campallo, to name a few. He probably charish the most all the countless times he has spend time after time with his idols and flamenco legends, Camaron de la Isla and Paco de Lucia. He is an amazing singer that has dedicated his profession to the intriquet art of singing for dancers (cante pa'tras). watching him responding, and improvasing with the dancers right infront of your eyes is always an amazing treat, specially in a wonderful intimate space. Laura Siebert is a native Houstonian who began her flamenco studies with Rogelio Rodriguez, in 1996. After attending classes and workshops with artists such as Maria Juncal, La Tania, Maria Serrano, Antonio Granjero, she was intensively mentored by Melissa Cruz and Fanny Ara. Since then, she has been able to perform in some of Houston's biggest theaters and events, such as The Hobby Center, The Wortham Center, and in then Houston Spanish & Flamenco Festival. She feels, though, that the small intimate stage and proximity to the musicians, of the tablao setting, is her home. More Info below.
