The Modern promotes understanding and interest in art and artists through curatorial research and publications, and a variety of educational programs, including lectures, guided tours, classes, and workshops. The Modern maintains one of the foremost collections of modern and contemporary art in the central United States and hosts major traveling exhibitions. The Permanent Collection consists of more than 3,000 works including pieces by Anselm Kiefer, Robert Motherwell, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter, Susan Rothenberg, Richard Serra, Andres Serrano, Cindy Sherman, and Andy Warhol. --- The Modern Shop Tuesday–Sunday 10 am–5 pm Friday 10 am–8 pm --- Café Modern Lunch Tuesday—Friday, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm Brunch Saturday—Sunday 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Dinner Tuesday (during the Lecture Series), 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm Friday, 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm Full Bar Service Tuesday—Sunday , 10:00 am - 4:30 pm Friday, 10:00 am - 9:30 pm
