For four consecutive weeks we will be covering the essential foundations of tango taught from the perspective of a queer dancer. In this introductory queer tango class series, you'll learn the essential foundations of Argentine tango, including proper posture, balance, and how to establish a strong connection with your partner. We'll cover the basics such as walking, the "basico," the cross, ochos, and pivots, while also exploring the rhythm and timing of tango music. Unique to queer tango, you'll discover concepts like role-switching, where anyone can lead or follow, active following, where followers contribute dynamically to the dance, and leaders who are open to following their partner's suggestions. She has won a silver medal at the Gay Games twice: in Cleveland and in Paris. While living in Buenos Aires for over 3.5 years she was able to study with her favorite teachers.
