The Dancer's Workout® - Newcomer's Orientation

Welcome to The Dancer's Workout® (TDW)! You are invited to the TDW Newcomer's Orientation where you can meet the instructors, learn more about our classes, and decide whether TDW is right for you! We'll provide an overview of our classes with our weekly schedule, class package options, and helpful links and resources. We'll discuss the best shoes for these classes - bring what you have. Wear or bring dance clothes (most wear stretchy black pants, tank tops, and a sports bra). Bring socks even if you don't have shoes, as we probably have some you can borrow. We'll do a little sample choreography with you so you can see if this is a good fit for you! If you'd like to review the choreography in advance, here's the link: [hidden]. At the end of orientation, you will be invited to stay and watch or join our 5:45-6:45 class! You will also receive three complimentary class passes! We can't wait to meet you! Register/RSVP for this free TDW Orientation right here on meetup! Here's the RSVP/sign-up process for this class: IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE: If spots are still available, RSVP here on meetup: [hidden]. If the class is full, you can waitlist and see if a spot becomes available. If you RSVP and your plans change, please immediately change your RSVP on this meetup so any waitlisted dancers can have your spot. No shows (i.e., dancers who RSVP for the in-person class but do not show up for class) will forfeit their "free first class" if they are a new student and will be charged for the class if they are an existing student. Dancers who change their RSVP to NO less than one hour prior to the class start time will also be charged for the class. - TDW Description: The Dancer's Workout® (TDW) is a super-fun, high-energy, intermediate-level adult dance class/dance fitness option for current and former dancers. Each one-hour TDW class starts with a 10-minute review of choreography to get everyone on the same page and then includes careful warm-up and stretching, toning exercises, and a thorough dance cardio workout. Intermediate, advanced, and advanced-beginner adult dancers alike enjoy the exciting choreography done to all pop music and the way the class keeps everyone moving the entire time. The Dancer's Workout® is NOT a beginner's dance class; it requires prior training in ballet, jazz, and/or hip hop. Every TDW masterclass includes movement sequences from multiple genres of dance, including ballet, jazz, contemporary and beginner's hip-hop. Its instructional choreography builds upon itself throughout the hour and offers a powerful, non-stop dance cardio workout which culminates in a dance to a featured pop song. The class is great for former dancers who want to find their way back home and for active dancers interested in maintaining flexibility and cardio stamina. Jazz sneakers or jazz slippers preferred. Jules, the founder of The Dancer's Workout®, is a classical ballet graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts who teaches at various studios throughout the triangle. Very supportive atmosphere, especially for former dancers who want to dance again.
