Let's Learn To Dance Salsa! Sultry Salsa #101 Mini Boot Camp And Lunch Social

This is a Multi-Group Event! 3 hour Mini Boot Camp introduction to Salsa and an hour lunch social. The authentic Mexican lunch includes your choice of a quesadilla, a burrito or fajitas. Mexican rice and beans are included plus your choice of either a cold Mexican cerveza, a glass of sangria or wine or a shot of tequila with salt and lime. The Mini Boot Camp and Lunch is only $70 per person. Reserve your spot here: [hidden] In the Mini Boot Camp, we start from the very beginning with the basic and the progressive basic steps. Next, we learn to hear the beats of music in the measure. Then, we learn how to connect with, and communicate to, our partner through the movements of our body utilizing our dance frame. We apply this to dance Salsa with "On1" timing or "LA style" Salsa. We will teach you a right turn, a behind the back hand change, some cute combinations such as the matador with the styling of the hairbrush and the waterfall. In addition, you will learn the "connector move", the cross body lead. Then we will create a fun dance routine for you to use to practice our new moves and to take to the clubs to dance. We will show you how to put these all together so that you can move smoothly from one combination to another to make your dancing flow and get you out on the dance floor looking good! NO PARTNER IS NECESSARY. We rotate partners in class. This will help you develop your skills more quickly and allow everybody the opportunity to practice the steps being taught and also to meet new people with whom you might practice at another time. Nevertheless, you may stay with one partner if you choose. SHOES: We recommend soles that allow you to slide safely across the dance floor, such as leather, smooth plastic, or suede. A closed back, or a strap across the heel, will help keep your foot in place as you turn. Rubber-soled shoes, athletic shoes and flip flops are not recommended. CLOTHING: Although we don't have a strict dress code, the norm for our classes is nicer-casual. Layers are suggested as you will heat up as the class progresses. Clothing should breathe. Cotton or other natural fibers is preferred. Clothing that restricts your movements is not recommended. THIS CLASS IS FOR PEOPLE NEW TO SALSA AND FOR PEOPLE THAT KNOW SOME SALSA BUT WISH TO IMPROVE THEIR BASIC TECHNIQUE, PARTNER CONNECTION AND TIMING OR TO BEGIN LEARNING VARIOUS TURN COMBINATIONS More Info below.
