The city of Pescola is located north of the Valencian Community, next to the Mediterranean Sea, 70 km from Castelln, 156 km from Valencia and 229 km from Barcelona. Of the 79 km 2 of extension of the municipality, 17 run parallel to the coast, and are distributed between extensive beaches of fine sand north of the citadel and beautiful coves flanked by steep cliffs to the south with warm waters in summer and autumn, contrasting with the forest areas and Mediterranean crops, among which orange, olive and almond trees are not lacking. The ancient city, crowned by a castle-fortress of the s. XIV, abode of Pope Benedict XIII, occupies an imposing rock that rises 64 m above the blue of the sea; It is linked to the continent by a sand cordon that once was swept by the waves during the storms, transforming the city into an ephemeral island. In contrast to the old town, there are the new streets and avenues of the tourist area. More Info below.
