Give your Rueda dancing a boost with this immersive weekend workshop!Improve your Casino style and technique with one of Mexico’s top instructors, Leslie Vazquez.Over the past two decades, Leslie has established herself as one of Mexico’s most prominent Cuban salsa dancers and teachers. She has developed her precise technique and body movement through years of study of Casino and its roots with world-renowned Cuban instructors. Leslie has even earned a diploma denoting mastery of Cuban popular dances from Cuba’s Ministry of Culture. She has worked continuously to perfect her teaching skills throughout the course of her 16 years as an instructor and has attended instructor trainings on proper Casino methodology during the “Baila en Cuba” event in Havana, Cuba.Additionally, Leslie has been involved in growing and bringing attention to the Cuban salsa community by participating in, and often winning, national and international dance competitions with several dance companies that she either co-founded or founded (CMV con Ritmo, Son Timberas, and Dance Timba dance companies, if you want to check them out on YouTube). In addition to that, Leslie has given dancers of all levels and backgrounds an opportunity to learn from some of the best Cuban salsa instructors from the world over during her Salsa Casino Mayan Congress event, one of Mexico’s top Cuban Salsa congresses.This December, Leslie is coming to Austin to share her passion for and knowledge of Casino and Rueda with us. If you are interested in perfecting your technique, incorporating more body movement, polish your lead or follow, as well as learning more complicated moves that build on what you already know, then this is an event you cannot miss.We will also have socials Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during which you can practice everything you learned throughout the day.This workshop is intended for people with prior experience dancing Rueda and Casino.
