Dear friends, Please come to an evening of jazz, film and folk. Featuring multi-instrumentalist Yosi Marshall, Charlie Chaplin and singer-songwriter, Catherine Ashby. Yosi will be playing self-composed jazz pieces as well as well-known tunes followed by a short Charlie Chaplin film from the Keystone series, for which he will accompany on piano, clarinet, sax and flute. Yosi will also be accompanying Catherine. BIOGRAPHIES CATHERINE ASHBY Catherine Ashby is an English Folk Americana artist from London. Laurel Canyon meets the English hills with a stop off in Nashville on the way. Her passionate songs come straight from the heart and stay in your head. With a voice to soothe the soul, weaving reflective lyrics around enchanting melodies reminiscent of classic songwriting of the 1960's & 70's from both sides of the pond. AnEarful Yosi Marshall Yosi, formally with Ramajaz, is a classically-trained pianist, who studied at the London College of Music. He now performs with Momentum Band and The Viski Collective. Recently, he has been curating and playing piano and saxophone in 5 concerts at Cafe Yukari this year. He has been regularly accompanying silent movies at the Classic Cinema Club of Ealing, for such films as the Temptress, the Lodger, Joan of Arc and the Artist. he gave two piano recitals at Yukari as well as a woodwind classical and jazz recital opposite Caroline Cooper. Momentum are a fusion band who play an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, latin, tango, flamenco, reggae with tinges of Afro-Cuban sounds. They play regularly at Pizza Express Pheasantry and Holborn, the Bull's Head in Barnes. They also have brought out 3 albums, recently What's the Vibe? Yosi also plays with the Viski Collective which is a Jazz, Latin and Soul band as well as with the Madhatter's, ska and reggae 80's pop band.
