Join the Washington Viennese Waltz Society to take part in our Annual Viennese Ball with membership options that include admission to the Viennese Ball listed in the tickets section. Enjoy a night of dancing to our classical orchestra or watch the twirling silhouettes on the dance floor move to the sounds of the world's most beloved waltzes, and other dance music from around the world. The Salon Orchestra of Washington will perform the world's favorite Strauss waltzes, ballroom music from around the world and the famous Radetsky Grand March, led by the popular Tanzmeister-couple Herbert and Carol Traxler. They will also invite you to join them in Strauss Fledermaus Quadrille #6, which is danced at all the major balls in Vienna. Experience the elegant atmosphere of an Austrian Ball, as you meet international professionals and members of the diplomatic community. You do not need a date to attend. You are welcome to attend without a date, as we expect as many singles as couples. Each year, we celebrate the arrival of spring with a magical Viennese celebration of music, wine, dinner and dance. The gala is well-attended by both singles and couple alike so you are welcome to attend on your own or with friends. The Viennese Ball is presented as a formal ball with dancing to an orchestra and not a seated event with the event space setup to acomodate the largest dance floor possible! As such though there will be a limited amount of seating offered at the event, kindly note that seating is not guaranteed at all times since space is maximized to allow for a large dance floor. :: The Salon Orchestra of WashingtonWe are pleased to announced that we have engaged the Salon Orchestra of Washington, Washington's finest Viennese Waltz Orchestra, to perform at our Viennese Ball. No worries, we'll show you how as you take part in a Viennese Ball tradition in prelude to a magical evening! :: Fledermaus Quadrille #6All guests are invited on the dance floor to dance the Quadrille to our live orchestra with hte helpful guidance of Tanzmeister Herbert & Carol Traxler. No prior experience is neccesary, as we'll show you all the steps! :: ProgramThe event will proceed as planned rain, shine, or snow. Agenda is tentative and is subject to change. 7:00 PM Admission Commences for Gala Benefactor Members- Classical duo performs during the VIP reception. - Enjoy a glass of champagne during the VIP Reception - Enjoy an elegant dinner buffet until 8:00 PM (Last dinner seating at 7:45 PM) 8:15 PM Classical duo takes break with recorded music played. 8:30 PM Admission Commences for Supporting Members- The Orchestra performs until 11:30 PM. - Dance to Viennese waltzes and other ballroom dance music - Enjoy a very extravagant dessert reception in the finest Viennese tradition until 10:00 PM. 9:15 PM Orchestra takes a break with recorded music played. 9:30 PM Welcome Remarks, dance performance, and Grand March 9:45 PM Orchestra performs music for dancing 10:30 PM Quadrille 10:45 PM Orchestra performs music for dancing 11:30 PM Gala Concludes with bar service ending at 11:15 PM. :: Q & ACan I attend on my own?You don't need a date to attend as both singles & couples attend the gala. Our members are friendly, outgoing, and a diverse group of internationally-minded professionals. How is admission handled?All guests must arrive at the Registration Desk for admission with Photo ID matching the name on the guest list. Reservations are released only to the member who made the reservation o if you made multiple reservations, please arrive for registration together with your guests. What do I wear?The recommended attire is White Tie or Black Tie Optional with dark suits being fine as well. Vintage formal attire welcome! Have fun dressing up, as you can't overdress for this event! When should I arrive for registration?Registration commences promptly at the time stated but not prior to that. Please arrive promptly on time, but do not arrive prior to that as we are unable to admit guests early due to ongoing preparations prior to the gala. How is the parking situation?The Embassy is located about 3 blocks from the Van Ness Metro station. Parking for the Austrian Embassy Viennese Ball is limited to street parking. There will be no parking available at the Austrian Embassy. Due to the limited parking, Uber, a cab or another transportation arrangement is highly recommended. At what time does the gala conclude?The gala concludes at 11:30 PM with bar service concluding at 11:15 PM. Kindly note by purchasing a membership, you accept responsibility to arrive for the event on time. Due to expenses incurred, we are unable to offer refunds if you are unable to make use of your membership for any reason. membership accession constitutes your acceptance of our no-refund policy. Admissions for Washington Viennese Waltz Society members will be released at the admission desk to the person who took out the memberships upon presenting photo ID AND the credit card used to join as a member.
