This year the course is aimed at dancers who want to find ways of moving simply with real musical signficance. You will be working with a dance teacher who is also a tango musician. Tango dancing is all about feeling and understanding the music. Steve uses his in-depth knowledge as a musician in a fun and engaging way to help dancers interact creatively with the music. Through the use of games, imagery, simple explanations in everyday language and lots of supervised dance time, Steve and Debbie will take you on a journey of musical exploration of tango, vals and milonga. Quite simply, Steve and Debbie will help you dance 'with your ears'. These classes may turn your idea of tango on its head, revealing the depths of musical detail that can inform and inspire simple, movement through collaboration. With 15 hours of lessons and time to practice and swap ideas about the dance, this week will give your tango musicality a real boost and give you time to get new concepts from your head to your feet. Level: Intermediate to advanced. Suitable for dancers of 2 years+ to 10 years+ experience. To get the most out of this week, you will have been dancing improvised tango and attending regular classes for at least 2 years . You should be able to confidently lead/follow ochos, giros, the cross, and walk in parallel and cross basic systems.
