Free Argentine Tango Class & Dance Party (Milonga)

Free beginning Argentine tango dance lesson from 7:30-8:30 PM with instructors MariaPia De Pasquale and Anna Kovalkova of Nashville Tango Club. (No partner necessary.) We have also invited experienced tangueros from Nashville's tango community to take the class with you and help you. Doors open at 7PM 8:30-11:00 PM Alternative Milonga with music by DJ Marshall Capps. What’s an Alternative Milonga? It’s a tango social dance event where neotango, nuevo tango and contemporary tango music is played as well as some music not usually associated with tango. Argentine tango is a vibrant and playful dance between two people. It has a rich potential for expression, improvisation and connection and is danced in both modern and traditional styles. It is often described as a passionate dance, because of the close connection partners can have, the character of the music, and also relating to some of the dance's history. PARKING: There is usually free parking on the street right in front of Play Dance Bar on Church Street or just around the corner on 16th Ave. There is also a free parking lot on McMillan Street near the corner of Church Street.
