Join us for a day dedicated to documenting Fresno hip-hop dance history, from the west Fresno youth who helped invent popping to thriving 1990s multi-cultural b-boy & b-girl scene. The event will start with walk-in oral histories from 9:00am-12:00pm. During this time historians and history students will conduct interviews and scan photographs from anyone who wants to share their experiences related to Fresno hip-hop history. OG poppers, b-boys & b-girls, emcees, graffiti artists, DJs or even party goers are encouraged to stop by and tell their stories. All collected material will eventually be archived on the Fresno State library website. From 12:00-1:00pm noted Fresno b-boy Goku will head a panel discussion on Fresno hip-hop dance history. The event will conclude with a performance from Goku at 1:00pm followed by free lunch! More Info below.
