NOTE: If you have been a member of Team Rodchata before, or had taken a 10-week or 12-weeks courses from Rodchata, you do not need to join the audition or tryout. You are automatically accepted. You're joining a family. The revival of Team Rodchata Dance Company is crucial because the traditional bachata dance and music scene is fading away in California's dance community. There was a time when DJs played great danceable bachata songs at social events, but nowadays, it's rare to hear songs from legendary artists like El Mayimbe, El Supremo, and Raulin. Even popular artists like Prince Royce and Romeo Santos are hardly played anymore. There is a frustrated and silent yearning for traditional bachata within the dance community. By joining Team Rodchata, you become part of a movement to promote and revive the fading art and culture of traditional bachata. Regardless of your skill level, there are numerous benefits to being a team member: - Social Dance Training: Team Rodchata trains students in all the concepts and principles of social dancing. The instructors have a great reputation in the social dance scene and will guide you to become a skilled and confident social dancer. - Choreography Training: Even if you don't aspire to perform, training with choreography will enhance your skills. You will develop musicality, timing, and precision in your techniques, deepening your understanding of bachata as a whole. - Comprehensive Training Program: The Rodchata Training Program consists of approximately 2 finished choreos (1st season), 83 ad 30 set forms. You'll the opportunity to learn these steps through drills, repeated movements, and dedicated practice. This eliminates the need for separate Rodchata Series Workshops, as you'll receive comprehensive instruction within the team.
