Margate Swing Festival 2023

Join us for the seaside vintage dance weekend. Three nights of dancing with Wild Swim, Tea dance, Roller Disco and Outdoor Dance Sunset Finale. We will as always be drafting in DJs, dancers and live bands from the London swing scene as well as Margates local talent to play the very best in Lindy, Balboa, Shag and Blues. We kick things off on Friday 8th at the Nayland Rock Hotel. A casual but lively opening, expect good value drinks, live music and a beautiful old wooden dance floor. Start Saturday by shaking off the previous nights escapades with a midday wild swim at The Walpole Bay Tidal Pool Margate, Ill be serving my usual beach bloody Marys. In the afternoon, Visit Dreamland (Margates vintage amusement park) and meet at the roller disco. Or simply spend the afternoon as a Margate tourist, visit Turner contemporary, walk the Old Town, explore Margate caves or the famous shell grotto. Margate has some great places to eat and drink these days, Ill be sending out my suggestions to all ticket buyers. We return to the Nayland Rock Hotels function hall for the spectacular Saturday night vintage evening ball. Dress to impress, start with a free dance lesson, before enjoying a live band and the best DJs from the London and local dance scene. Bid a fond farewell to new friends and new experiences with an outdoor swing dance overlooking the sea, one of last years highlights. Watch one of Margates famous sunset skies, before a 2 minutes walk back to Margate train station ensures a hassle free end to a wonderful weekend.
