the 13th 1940s Ball, featuring music, re-enactors, displays of World War II airplanes and other vehicles, food, contests, and dancing on the evening of Saturday, June 17 at Boulder Airport. Be greeted by Polynesian dancers with leis and ukulele music when you enter—the theme is sailing the South Seas. Dance under the stars, around vintage airplanes, and vehicles and join our conga line. Enter the replica of Rick’s Café American—even play a real game of roulette. Then walk down Victory Street under a canopy of lights and enjoy an exhilarating airshow overhead. And you can visit a 1940s drive in movie theater. Buy vintage 1940s clothing—who knows, you might be selected to enter and win our vintage attire contest!!! Go on an interactive scavenger hunt! Take in dance lessons!!!!! Dance, dance and dance!!!!! Come and have fun!!!!!! The 1940s Ball will feature the world-renown Glenn Miller Orchestra. Also confirmed will be Chicago’s Tammi Savoy, performing with Denver’s Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles, Hollywood’s Satin Dollz, New York City’s Dandy Wellington, the Queen City Jazz Orchestra, and The Hot Tomatoes, to name just a few. There will also be re-enactors bringing such legends as Bob Hope, The Andrews Sisters and Frank Sinatra back to life. More Info below.
