Salsa is a popular form of social dance that originated in New York with strong influences from Latin America, particularly Cuba and Puerto Rico. The movements of salsa have their origins in Cuban Son, Cha-cha-cha, Mambo and other dance forms, and the dance, along with salsa music, originated in the mid-1970s in New York. Salsa, like most music genres has gone through a lot of changes through the years and incorporated elements of Swing dancing and Hustle, as well as elements of Afro-Cuban and Afro-Caribbean dances such as Guaguanco and Pachanga. We teach L.A. style Salsa which is danced on 1, in a slot, with a measure of easiness and adaptability to it. The count is 1,2,3, 5,6,7 . L.A. style places strong emphasis on sensuousness, theatricality, aerobics and musicality. Join us and become a Club 50/50 Salsero or Salsera More Info below.
