Kettlebell Camp!

Join us this Saturday for our New Kettlebell Camp! This Dynamic Workout is guaranteed to have your heart pumping at a fat burning output unlike anything you have ever experienced in the past. Kettlebell Camp will be led by JJ Brawley, Master Level Kettlebell Instructor and seasoned personal trainer with 20+ years of experience who will guide you through a dynamic warm up followed by a series of drills using a Kettlebell and your own body weight to create a well balanced fitness session that will challenge your entire body and leave you feeling exhilarated and maybe even a bit sore! What is a Kettlebell? The kettlebell or girya (Russian: ги́ря) is a cast-iron weight (resembling a cannonball with a handle) used to perform ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. Russian kettlebells are traditionally measured in weight by pood, which (rounded to metric units) is defined as 16 kilograms or (35 lb). Lighter Kettlebells are used to teach the basic movements and to assist the trainee in learning good form, proper posture and technique. Kettlebell Anatomy Unlike traditional dumbbells, the kettlebell's center of mass is extended beyond the hand, similar to Indian clubs or ishi sashi. This facilitates ballistic and swinging movements. Variants of the kettlebell include bags filled with sand or steel shot, water, or handles which take a variable number of plates. They also have a center of mass which is extended beyond the hand and allow for swing movements and release moves with added safety and added grip, wrist, arm and core strengthening due to the shifting fill material. History Kettlebells were developed in Russia in the 1700s. The Soviet army used them as part of their physical training and conditioning programs in the 20th century. They had been used for competition and sports throughout Russia and Europe since the 1940s. Though kettlebells had been in the United States in some form since the 1960s or earlier, Dragon Door Publications and Pavel Tsatsouline developed the first instructor certification program in the USA in 2001. Cost Your first session is just $20 and you can bring a friend to your first session as part of the fee. If you like the session and wish to continue training with me I offer several options for you to choose from including private training, session packages or complete goal related programs tailored and customized specifically to you.
