Looking for a night out with Latin music? Look no more! Kick off the Easter Bank Holiday with a musical journey through Colombia hosted by The Bright Kites Foundation. From salsa caleña to the Atlantic rhythms of Cumbia and Bullerengue from the Caribbean coast, join us to celebrate the soundtrack of this beautiful country and the future of its younger generations. This night will help three disadvantaged Colombian students realise their dream of travelling to London and taking part in a language and cultural exchange programme this summer. Help us give hope to these students and come dance through til Good Friday @ Rich Mix London on Thursday 18th April... All levels welcome. 9 - 10pm: Colombian powerhouse Esteban Card & his band will keep things moving with a mesmerising live set. The Medellin-born singer and songwriter melds the traditional sounds from the ancestral drumming of Colombia's Caribbean coast with cutting-edge organic production. Esteban has recently released his album INELEMENTUM which has been turning heads over at Abbey Road Studios. 10pm - 11pm: Continuing the party, tropical band The Indios will be gracing the stage with their fresh blend of traditional Colombian rhythms such as Champeta, Chande and Cumbia with heavy indie guitars and powerful synths. Friends Juan Contento and Felipe Rojas formed the band to make people dance. These guys ave been performing all over the UK and will be touring later this year. 11pm - close: DJ Alex Farrell will end the night with his own blend of afro and latin influenced house, funk and disco. Famous for being the founder and guitarist of 9 piece afro funk band London Afrobeat Collective, Alex has also been appearing behind the DJ decks in clubs and festivals for the last 20 years from Glastonbury Festival to rooftop parties in Medellin, Colombia. He has performed alongside legends such as Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, Juan Atkins & many more. - More Info below.
