Swing (Lindy Hop) Dances At Mit

Lindy Hop is the original form of swing, which originated in the 1920's ( more info ). Lindy Hop is still thriving, and vibrant dance scenes exist in nearly every major city in the US. Dancing takes place in the Boston area from 3-5 nights per week ( local calendar ). A national calendar and blues-specific calendar may also be of interest. We dance to a wide variety of music ranging from traditional swing to blues to hip-hop. Our dances are held once a week on Wednesday nights usually in the student center on the second floor. Lesson usually at 7: 30, dancing from 9: 00 to 11: 30 p. M. , Except on days without a lesson when the dance will begin at 8: 30 p. M. Please check the schedule for changes or cancellations.
