Melafestivalen 2019

Mela is an urban festival for performing arts and cultural expressions from all over the world. The festival is genre-wide and includes many different art forms. Mela is free and is arranged every year at the City Hall Square in Oslo. Mela's director is Khalid Salimi. The word mela is Sanskrit and means when you meet or to meet. Mela's task is to make artistic expressions that have existed for centuries elsewhere in the world known in Norway. Self-production in which Norwegian and foreign artists collaborate is a mainstay of the festival. In addition, Mela specializes in local artists. More Info below.
