[hidden] Learn the basic steps for salsa, bachata This workshop is designed for the absolute beginner. We will learn the basic step and then add basic partner work moves. OTHER DETAILS: Open to the public. No partner necessary; We switch dance partners every few minutes as we learn and practice the material. If you want to stay with the same partner because you came to the class as a couple, then that is okay as well. We will rotate partners throughout the class so that everyone gets equal instruction. Each person will get an opportunity to dance with the instructors as well as the other students. No dance experience needed. WHAT TO WEAR? You are not likely to work up a sweat, because the activity will not be strenuous. Wear whatever clothes you are comfortable in whether it is athletic gear or work clothes. Wear a pair of clean shoes so that you don't track in dirt from outside. You can dance in your socks, but its not recommended because you don't want someone stepping on your feet! Shoes that have low friction are ideal for pivoting and turning, however because this is a beginner class, just about any shoe will work. Rubber soled shoes are not great unless they are worn smooth. Leather soled, wood soled, suede soled shoes make dancing easier. You are not likely to exert yourself during this workshop, because it is primarily instructional and beginner level, but it is a physical activity and if you have any physical problems, then please get a doctors recommendation before participating.
