In the spirit of the dance movie La La Land that will be shown at sunset on Oct 6, we've invited Fauna of Rooh Hura Belly Dance to warm you up with a fun and easy belly dance class. Learn shoulder rolls and chest pops; hip shimmies, circles and lifts. Then, Fauna will show you how to link the moves together and dance a short, upbeat combination! FAUNA BIO: [hidden] INTERACT: [hidden] EMAIL: [hidden] Fauna is a veteran performer with more than a decade of belly dance teaching experience. She founded SouFlower Studios, the first belly dance studio in Greensboro, and co-founded Studio 318 World Dance Oasis. She's also the creative director for Kymira Modern Bohemian Belly Dance and co-director of Rooh Hura. As an active dancer and instructor in Greensboro and surrounding communities, Faun has taught master classes at UNCG, NC A&T, and Elon University. Locally, she is a regular performer at the Greensboro Summer Solstice Celebration and was featured at the Center City Park opening event. She's also danced in two shows with Zoe Jakes of Beats Antique that Fauna produced right here in Greensboro. Fauna's two greatest delights are dancing to live music and passing on the art of belly dance to students of all levels. She has performed with master musicians from Egypt and Morrocco, danced with Hellblinki Sextet, the Opa! Band, and collaborated on myriad shows with Crystal Bright & The Silverhands. She also formed Fauna and the Faux Pharaohs with musicians from the Awake the White and Wint'ry Queen production. Fauna continues to be a public dance figure by teaching Fitness by the Fountain classes and, more recently, for LeBauer Park special events. She also holds studio group workshops and private classes.
