13th Annual Hawaii Belly Dance Convention

We are proud to announce the 13th annual Hawaii Belly Dance Convention held in Honolulu Hawaii! The event is 4 days in length, Thursday October 12 through Sunday October 15th including a gala showcase, 19+ hours of seminars, the VIP After Party and the dancers favorite Reflection! We’d like to invite you and your friends/students to join us for belly dancing and fun in paradise! All HBDC event details will be updated frequently on this event page, the HBDC group [hidden] and official website [hidden] - Thursday, October 12th 2017 REFLECTION… an intimate night of performances and commentary Honolulu Museum of Arts Doris Duke Theatre 5:00-8:00pm “Like a reflecting pool that mirrors the features of its subject, one of our greatest tools for learning and growth is feedback from our peers. As performers, we have an obligation to our audiences. As we grow as dancers our audiences come to expect more from us. Through meaningful collaboration, we can utilize our various skills and creative vision to build a stronger performance culture.” Selected performers will dance before a panel of world-renown performers & instructors. Reviews will be structured to guide the commentary and ensure all feedback is positive and constructive. Through written notes and a moderated verbal discussion, the panel will provide valuable feedback to help performers fine tune their piece for future audiences. TICKETS [hidden] - Friday, October 13th 2017 Shimmy Showcase Gala Event 6:00pm-10:00pm Join us for the crowd favorite Shimmy Showcase Gala at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theatre (900 Kinau Street). The Shimmy Showcase is an opportunity for convention participants to see their teachers in action, and for everyone to appreciate the enchanting art of Middle Eastern dance. The show will be preceded by a no-host 90min reception with special preview performances, ethnic spirits, henna art and ethnic cuisine. General tickets begin at $40 with VIP available and discounted admission for museum members.
