Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre presents LOS CAPRICHOS! Originally booked for the intimate Bedlam Lowertown, "Los Caprichos" was sent adrift upon announcement that Bedlam would have to vacate and close its doors just days before Zorongo's opening night. We feel blessed to have Park Square save the day. ""Los Caprichos" had something really powerful." - StarTribune, 2015 Susana di Palma's vision for "Los Caprichos" was inspired by Spanish artist Francisco Goya and his satirical prints, including “The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters.” The StarTribune has called the piece an "image-heavy dance — with rhythmic flamenco punctuated by moments of stillness and creeping, sinister movements." In other words, a performance that evokes the mysteries of Halloween and the drama of the Election season that the first weekend in November will bring. "And yet amid these moments of horror came humor as well" LOS CAPRICHOS will feature Zorongo Artistic Director Susana di Palma, dancers Deborah Elias,Colette Illarde & AJ Frenzel, original music by guitarist/composer Ben Abrahamson, tap/percussion dancers Jeremy Bensussan & Tyrone Russell, and a cast of local Zorongo dancers.
