St. Pete Swing Summit July

Hello dancers! I am thrilled to announce that there's a new dance in town at Hip Expressions studio in lovely St. Petersburg, Florida. Parking is abundant and free at the next door John Sexton Elementary School. Look for the small red side door for the entrance to the dance, just like a speakeasy! Hip Expressions is adding new Air Conditioning ducts to the rooms so it should be much cooler, and in addition, Deco Dance will be bringing several fans along as well. Waters and other beverages are available, courtesy of Hip Expressions for $1+ 6:30 pm on the 22nd of July is our second St. Pete Swing Summit! • This will be a TWO ROOM dance, at present, the Bay Area's only two room dance. One room for Jazz and Swing, one room for Rock and Roll and Blues in the last hour! Just like switching the dial on your radio, you can go back and forth from room to room whenever you like. There will also be a THIRD room, very small and off to the side with a blues playlist on all night. Jazz Room: DJ Jonathan Wyers Rock and Roll/Blues: DJ Nathan J Foreman • From 6:30-7:30 you have the choice of a Beginner or Intermediate lesson in Lindy Hop taught by some of the bay's best instructors. Drop in Lindy Hop: Brendan Smith Intermediate Lindy Hop: Kevin Peer and Heather Warner-Dubin By popular request, we will have a third smaller room open during the lessons from 6:30-7:30 for open dancing, just in case you don't want the instruction and are ready to get moving!
