Single Mary (Jennifer Lopez from Maid in Manhattan and Hustlers) organizes other people's wedding ceremonies. One day, while crossing the street, the heel of one of her shoes gets stuck in a sewer grate, just as a garbage truck is speeding towards her. A handsome man saves her from certain death. His name is Peter and he is a doctor. Once recovered, Mary is blindsided by Penny (Judy Greer from What Women Want and 27 Dresses) who arranges a date with Steve (Matthew McConaughey from Interstellar and Dazed and Confused) at an outdoor party. For the first time in years, Mary finds herself enjoying the company of a person of the opposite sex. She believes she has finally found the right man. The next day, Mary is hired to arrange a lavish wedding for Fran Donolly (Bridgette Wilson), a rich and temperamental girl.
