CUBAN SALSA BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE CLASSES Our open workshop format allows students to attend any class at anytime. We run two back to back Cuban salsa classes on Monday nights. Our Point Cook, Brunswick & Melbourne CBD Beginner Cuban Salsa Classes cover: Cuban Salsa, some LA Salsa aspects, Cuban couple dancing, Ladies and men’s turns, Lead and follow, Hand signalling, Body isolation, Timing, Dance patterns and combinations, Some Rueda De Casino (synchronised dancing in a circle) 2020 TIMETABLE: FREE Intro Salsa Session 7.00pm – 7.25pm * Absolute beginners, no dance experience necessary, open to all adult ages. Ideal for all first timers not sure of what salsa is about but wish to give salsa a try! You’ll have the option to stay on to do the full class if you enjoy the intro class or sadly say goodbye to us, with absolutely no pressure to stay. We have opened the start of the class to give everyone a chance to try salsa first to see if it feels right for you. CLASS #1: Beginner Cuban Salsa 7.00pm – 8.10pm * Start Anytime. No Partner Required, no dance experience necessary, all adult ages. Ideal for beginner students of any level (from students with little or no experience to those who have an understanding of the basic steps and turns) CLASS #2: CUBAN SALSA Intermediate (Cuban Salsa/Rueda) 8.10pm – 9.10pm * Ideal for students who are confident with beginner level steps and turns. This level will push you to the next level and extend your salsa skills with new steps, upper body movement, more complex partner patterns and improvised footwork – AFTER CLASS SOCIAL DANCING & PRACTICE – Join us after class for some social dancing & practice COST: We run 2 x one hour classes per night. Wear shoes that do not have too much grip on the sole such as smooth leather sole shoes as you will be learning turns and spins. Avoid using track shoes or tennis shoes as these are made to grip the floor. For ladies, flat or low heel shoes, avoid open toe shoes. NO high heels especially when just starting to learn.
