Farming Hope & Curry Without Worry: Holiday Fundraiser Dinner

Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente Join the Farming Hope squad and Curry Without Worry crew for our holiday dinner, Thursday, December 5 at Manny's in San Francisco. With a ticket, you can: Enjoy a seasonal five course meal (Sample menu below) Break bread with neighbors from across the city Meet the teams behind Farming Hope and Curry Without Worry Leave warm-hearted after celebrating with your favorite food justice friends Guest Chef Shrawan Nepali will delight you with his unique Nepalese cooking, a mostly vegan and organic meal. Shrawan feeds 500 homeless individuals in San Francisco every Tuesday through his nonprofit Curry Without Worry. Prior to founding Curry WoW, he owned and served as head chef of Taste of the Himalayas restaurant in San Francisco. Chef Shrawan's contagious positivity has inspired free meal programs around the world. His example of showing kindness to others will leave you happier and happier with each course of the meal. Guest Chef fundraisers generate needed funds to fulfill Farming Hope's mission - paying direct wages to formerly incarcerated and homeless folks who work in our transitional employment program. This December 5, we'll set a communal table to eat together and hear the origin stories of Farming Hope and Curry Without Worry. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations at the event will be shared 50/50 to both nonprofits. Please consider making a donation at the event as part of your end-of-year giving. Farming Hope runs a full-service restaurant and a farm-to-table culinary job training program at Manny's, a civic gathering space in San Francisco's Mission District. To support our venue host, we ask guests to purchase wine, beer, or non-alcoholic drinks from the bar from Manny's. If you have allergies or restrictions to this particular menu, it is best to consider attending another Guest Chef Dinner with a different menu. Overtime, we have a menu for everyone, so you won't miss out. If you absolutely require dietary accomodations for this event, be sure to e-mail [hidden] prior to the event to let us know. It is unlikely we can make accomodations the night of the event.* FAQs What is the dress code for community pop up diners? Come as you are! No dress code, we are a casual bunch. I want to join the conversation and try the food, but can't afford a ticket right now. Is it possible to get a ticket still? Of course! We have free tickets available for community guests, please reach out to Farming Hope staff in person or email [hidden] to inquire about community tickets. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Manny's is located at 3092 16th Street. Parking is difficult, particularly at night. We highly recommend taking BART if possible, as the 16th St. Mission Station is one block from Manny's. There is also a bus stop and Lyft bike share station outside Manny's front door. There is a city-operated parking garage nearby at 16th and Hoff St., entrance on Hoff St. Are children welcome? Yes! But please note - every dinner guest needs a ticket. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please email [hidden]. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner, but please forgive us for delays! Running a restaurant and job-training nonprofit seven days a week keeps us off email! What's the refund policy? No refunds, a donation never hurt anyone (and it has helped). Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, we have a guest list. Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes, just email [hidden] to let us know prior to the event. Do I have to be there at 7:00 pm sharp or can I come in whenever? I hate commitment and being on time. Dinner is served in courses, so if you're late, you'll miss some of the courses - we recommend coming early and having fun with us together throghout the evening. Can I buy a ticket at the door? No, guests need to sign up for a free ticket or purchase a ticket before the event so we have a final head count. For planning table settings, number of chairs, amount of food to purchase and cook so as not to be wasteful, we require all guests register at least one day prior to the event. Are donations tax-deductible? What are the nonprofits' federal tax ID numbers for my tax records? Yes! Both organizations are 501c3 nonprofits, registered with the IRS and the State of California. Farming Hope: 83-2393341 Curry Without Worry: 45-0552584 I can't make the event. Can I donate? Yes, please! You can donate a ticket to be gifted free to a neighbor in need, by purchasing a "donation" ticket here on Eventbrite. You can also donate to Farming Hope online at [hidden]. More Info below.
